“I come from a proud family devoted to public service, and it’s been the honor of my life to serve as your mayor. Over the past six years, we’ve worked hard to move Bergenfield forward — repaving more than 250 roads and sidewalks, improving our parks, investing in public safety, and keeping taxes stable while expanding services for families and seniors.
But there’s more to do. Together, we can continue the redevelopment of our business district, attract new investments, and strengthen our programs for the youth through sports and recreation. I know how to navigate government, build partnerships, and get things done — because I’ve been doing it for you, every single day. Let’s keep Bergenfield moving forward.”
LIST OF ISSUES
Financial Stabilization
Bergenfield’s strong fiscal management is one of our greatest achievements. Under my administration, we have maintained an AA+ credit rating, reflecting responsible budgeting, disciplined spending, and long-term planning. This rating ensures lower borrowing costs for taxpayers and greater financial stability for our borough.
My focus has always been — and will continue to be — keeping Bergenfield financially strong through controlled and responsible municipal property tax increases while maintaining the quality of essential services our residents depend on.
We have also secured millions of dollars in state and county grants to fund road improvements, park renovations, public safety upgrades, and wellness initiatives — all while easing the financial burden on local taxpayers.
Moving forward, I remain committed to pursuing every available grant opportunity to support our programs and infrastructure projects, keeping taxes stable and predictable through careful fiscal management, continuing transparent and accountable budgeting practices, and strengthening Bergenfield’s financial position for future generations.
Through prudent financial management and proactive leadership, we will keep Bergenfield on a path of stability, growth, and progress.
Redevelopment and Economic Growth
Bergenfield is experiencing a period of strong renewal and responsible growth. Our downtown redevelopment is well underway, bringing new mixed-use buildings that will attract businesses, create housing opportunities, and energize our local economy.
We continue to work with developers, business owners, and county and state partners to ensure projects are thoughtfully designed, environmentally sound, and aligned with our community’s character. These efforts will revitalize Washington Avenue, support small businesses, and make Bergenfield a more vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.
Our goal is simple: revitalize without losing our identity — preserving the hometown feel that makes Bergenfield special while building a stronger economic foundation for the future.
Infrastructure Upgrade
Bergenfield continues to move forward with major investments in our infrastructure. Over the past six years, we have repaved more than 250 roads and sidewalks, improved our parks, and built new facilities that make our community safer and stronger — including the new Borough Hall and its surrounding complex, which now serves as a modern, accessible center for public service.
Our planned projects include the renovation of Cooper’s Pond, improving flood mitigation systems, completing Phases II and III of Vivyen Field, and building a new Recreation Center for our youth and families. These initiatives are designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and quality of life for all residents while keeping Bergenfield beautiful, modern, and resilient for the future.
Youth, Sports, and Recreation Programs
Investing in our youth means investing in Bergenfield’s future. We continue to expand programs that give young people opportunities to grow, stay active, and build lifelong skills through sports, recreation, and leadership activities.
Our commitment includes completing Phases II and III of Vivyen Field, developing a new Recreation Center, and improving our parks and athletic facilities to meet the needs of families across town. Through these projects, along with support for local leagues, after-school activities, and volunteer programs, we’re creating safe, inclusive spaces where our youth can thrive.
Together, we’re building a healthier, stronger, and more connected community — one game, one program, and one young leader at a time.
Public Safety and Community Well-Being
Bergenfield’s safety and strength come from a true partnership — between our community and the dedicated men and women who serve in our Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps. My administration has always stood firmly behind them, providing increased funding, modern equipment, and full support to ensure they can serve with excellence and pride.
Because of this strong collaboration, Bergenfield continues to be recognized as one of the safest communities in the nation. This achievement reflects the trust, teamwork, and shared commitment between our first responders and our residents.
Public safety goes hand in hand with community well-being. Through the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, and in partnership with our Health Department and Stigma-Free Committee, we continue to promote mental health awareness, encourage active living, and strengthen the programs that keep our residents healthy and connected.
Together, we are building a community that protects, supports, and cares for one another — making Bergenfield not only one of the safest, but also one of the most united and wellness-focused towns in New Jersey.
