For Mayor Arvin Amatorio, public service has always been about people — about listening, building trust, and creating lasting change that residents can feel in their daily lives. His years of leadership in Bergenfield reflect a simple belief: progress happens when a community works together with shared purpose and heart.

Under his guidance, Bergenfield has transformed into a more vibrant and connected town. Roads and sidewalks across neighborhoods have been rebuilt to make travel safer and smoother. The new Borough Hall and Police Headquarters stand as symbols of modern, efficient government — one that’s transparent and accessible to everyone. Our parks and athletic fields have been renewed, giving families and children more space to play, train, and come together.

Bergenfield continues to be recognized as one of the safest communities in the nation, thanks to the administration’s unwavering support for our Police, Fire, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Behind these achievements is a clear principle — that safety, stability, and community must always go hand in hand.

Financial responsibility remains a cornerstone of Mayor Amatorio’s approach. With Bergenfield maintaining its strong AA+ credit rating, he continues to pursue grants and outside funding to strengthen local programs without placing additional burden on residents. This balance of vision and prudence ensures the town grows responsibly while staying true to its small-town character.

Looking ahead, Mayor Amatorio remains focused on projects that will enhance quality of life for all. Renovations at Cooper’s Pond will preserve one of Bergenfield’s most cherished landmarks. Improved flood mitigation and the completion of Vivyen Field’s next phases will help protect homes and expand recreation opportunities. Plans for a new Recreation Center will soon offer more spaces where residents can gather, learn, and stay active.

Through initiatives like the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, the community continues to promote health, unity, and compassion — values that reflect what Bergenfield truly stands for.

“Public service is not about titles or terms; it’s about trust. Our progress comes from partnership — from residents, volunteers, and local leaders working together toward one goal: a stronger, better Bergenfield.”— Mayor Arvin Amatorio
